(Most of all the products purchased at Costco)

Grateful For Conference

This is my little set up Sunday for watching to the 4hs of General Conference.
Every 6 months I look forward to it!

Today, the weather was perfect.
The talks inspiring.

The only thing missing was my hubby who had to work all week-end!
We did watch the Saturday morning session together in a hotel he got down town.
He had to be at a site for work during the night.
So I joined him at work, we had dinner together and breakfast.
It's the only way I got to see him a bit this past week!
This month is very busy for him.
I complain a bit but I am so grateful he still has this job!
Going on 5 years now when he got contracted for 2.

But I do miss him...

I attended a BYU Football Game!!!!

Yep!

After 24 years of marriage I finally attended a BYU football game with Mike!

If anyone knows me, I have very little no interest in watching College Football. 

Never have.

When Mike and I were newly weds, I almost attended a BYU game in Provo 

with our mission friend Mike Perkins.

I ended up staying in Mike's dorm room reading a book because 

I wasn't feeling up to sitting in those uncomfortable bleachers. 

[stomach cramps were the excuse]

And again, because I wasn't interested.

So here I am, even looking forward to spending a little time with my Man doing what he loves!

What made it better is that I had my girl friend there too. 

She is as clueless as I am about what is going on on the field! 

As you can tell with her very puzzled look below!

The weather was P E R F E C T!

Mike, Chris & Sarah even went all out with BYU outfits!

Unfortunately, our little row of BYU supporters were sitting in the opposite team bleachers!!!!

A W K W A R D !

We could see in the distance on the opposite side of us all the BYU fans screaming 

and getting excited together.

What made it even more awkward was that at the End BYU won.

Here we were, leaving with all the defeated Houstonian fans!

Our Last Day

Today was our last full day in Hawaii. We did what Mike wanted to do!

He didn't get much rest with all the places we had to see, the snorkeling to do and things to discover.

I pretty much chose where to go, when, almost this whole trip.

So I said to Mike: 

"This is your day, I will do what you want and not complain or suggest something else"... 

It was hard at times to keep my mouth shut!

So what did we do? You ask?

We slept in.

We ate lunch at our place. 

Packed.

Did laundry.

We did nothing relaxed until 3pm. 

We left our place to take a stroll on Waikiki beach, took a little dip in the water.

We watched the parade and had dinner watching the Sunset.

Yep, that was it. 

It was nice and romantic...

 An Asian couple were taking wedding pictures on Waikiki Beach. 

I guess it's a popular wedding spot!

 Mike, being nice. If you can't tell this is his 'are-you-done-taking-pictures-yet-because-i-am?' face.

People lock up their surf boards right by the beach! 

Some of these were HUGE!

And the Sunset was lovely.

The Polynesian Culture Center

We were able to meet one of Justine's friend to purchase tickets at 50% off the regular price.

They can be very pricey but it is a worthwhile experience!

Justine worked here for a couple of months last semester.

We had a wonderful time. 

We were there from 1pm till 10pm enjoying the many activities, shows, cultures and foods.

We got an ambassador tour, but will next time get regular admission so 

we can enjoy more of the shows, and we will be there right when it opens.

We only saw 2 shows with our tour guide :(

16 Ways Mike & I Are Different

1. He likes nothing but grass all the way to the foundation of our house.

    I like a jungle of beautiful flowers, trees and creeping vines.

2. Every movie is new to him, even if he's already seen it.

    I don't like watching a movie twice, though I have my exceptions.

3. He likes parties and socializing.

    I like to be just us or with just one couple or family.

4. He does not read books/magazines but will still buy them and stack them up. 

    I love to read books.  I get rid of his stacks when he's not around.

5. He can talk and always has something to say.

    I listen a lot.

6. He likes playing team sports.

    I like doing individual sports.

7. He will not eat sushi.

    I can eat sushi all day.

8. He loves ice cream and lots of chocolate and peanut butter. 

    I love fruits & dislike chocolate.

9. He has a good sense of humor but no sense of time. 

    I have no sense of humor when he has no sense of time.

10. He's a night owl. 

      I'm a morning bird. 

11. He can't remember what he ate for breakfast yesterday, 

      but remembers his best friends house phone number from 25 years ago!

      I can't remember my own phone number growing up,

but remember events, people and places pretty well. 

12. He loves long hair on me.

      I love my hair short.

13. He can count. He usually knows what I mean when I get my numbers wrong.

     I can't count! I hate numbers. I constantly get my 1000's, 10000 & 100000's mixed up.

14. He loves going to see movies at the theater.

      I do not care for movie theaters. I much prefer a movie at home in my cozy house. 

15. He is a pack rat.

    When he goes out of town I throw away everything I think he won't notice.

16. He could cuddle all night.

      When I'm sleeping, touch me at your own risk. I am not responsible when in slumber.

But other than that, I really think this relationship can work!

Look Out

We drove up the coast to another beach we were told was very pretty.

This is a little lookout we stoped at on our way there...

I love discovering new places with my hubby!

Heart, Love & Manta Rays

We found a little black sand beach one evening. 

We were on our way to a big beach resort, 

the Sheraton Resort to have dinner and watch the Manta Rays.

It was Perfect for our last night on the island!

After dark the sea side restaurant shines bright lights in the ocean waves attracting plankton and 

HUGE manta rays come and graciously feast. 

None of my pictures or videos could do justice to their beautifully rhythmic dance.

4 of them came tonight.

A group of young buys and girls braved the rocky shore and dove in to swim with them! 

Oh how I wished I had my snorkel gear with us in the car...

I probably would have dove in too...

Crossing the Deep Ocean Blue of Kaelalukea Bay

We were so lucky! 

The waters were the calmest they had been in the last few days, 

the sun was shinning and we were in good shape.

We put on our masks, some long fins we borowed from our host, 

and off we went down these steps ready for a seamingly easy adventure. 

We snokled, gliding through this beautiful ocean the nearly 1 1/2 mile to Captain Cook Monument. 

Only accessible by conoe, excursion boat, or by a 1 1/2 hour walk on rocky terrain.

Because we can do this! 

I'm a strong swimmer and Mike... well, he loves me!

We set off, arm in arm at times so we would stay close together.

Ok... I did drag Mike a few times once in a while, so we would keep a good pace.

I must say the swim there for me was amazing! 

I had the most wonderful experience with time and nature.

Time stood still.

 Emotions of being one with Creation welled up in me filling me with joy, 

peacefulness, awe and excitement. 

Below me was this incredible glistening blue as far as the eye could see, 

a water world of beauty and mystery.

I tried to capture the sun rays plunging deep on camera, 

this picture doesn't totally reflects what I saw, but is close.

Mike

After toiling for near an hour, 

thought he was finally going to be saved by a bright light at the bottom of the ocean. 

After 1 hour and a half swim, we got to the monument where snorkeling is awesome.

We could see the bottom again.

I felt so happy about our accomplishement!

I was proud of Mike who made it! 

Mike was tired and happy he didn't die!

He's never swam this far or this long! 

He only did it because he could snorkel the distance...

We took a break and sat for a few minutes looking back at the bay we had conquered!

And what did we see?

Dolphins swimming with snorkelers! 

Not too far, but also not close enough for us to quickly put our gear back on 

and get to them in time to swim with them! 

We were only there 5 mn ago!

 Darn it!

Bummer! 

I was so close to fulfilling one of my dreams!

We got back in and snorkled around, and slowly headed back to the other side of the bay.

At this point I started to have a little doubt about doing the distance again for Mike. 

Could he do another 1h to 2h swim?

I wished we could hitch a ride on a boat or even walk back...
