Little Kindness & Little Frost.

This morning at 7:30 when It was time to take Amelie to school,

for her morning school duties, her class is in charge of this month,.

I found a towel on my windshield.

It made me smile. 

It made me feel cared for. 

It made me feel loved.

Come to find out my Man put it there so I would not have frost on it!
So thoughtful...

I love thoughtfulness from my guy!

Yesterday, it took a long time to defrost it like 5 minutes, 

and that is long time when you are driving with hardly no clear vision, 

and the heat on full high, to get Amelie to Choir practice on time.
He must have telepathically heard me complain when it happened?
Because I never mentioned it to him.

We don't own scrapers anymore...

No need here in Houston Texas.  

"I have some very bad news"

Tonight, as my Man walked through our bedroom door after 

Chloe greeted him with her usual exited yelps and wines, 

and a few lickings on his face, 

Mike announced:

"I have some very bad news"

I brace myself for:

'I lost my job' kinda bad news.

But no, thankgoodness, this is what he said:

"I talked to a lot of people tonight, 

and those Marrons glaces were donated a few days ago to a church.

They were a Christmas special, were discounted and then donated!"

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! 

I'm a few days too late! 

He would have bought them all too, that's Mike, you know!

Zut alors!
Darn it!

Rewind about an hour before

I had texted him

"I'm really craving those Chestnuts Glaces from H&H" 

Mike is too sweet, he went out of his way tonight to stop by H&H to try and get them for me...

Now, that is a good caring Hubby for you, well for me, really!

Today - Part 2

Today

A 'Ray of Sunshine' came through the back door at the drop of a hat, 

in the form of a sweet sister-girlfriend, Jamie.

To comfort, to offer friendship, to paint toe nails orange!

A breath of fresh air on a beautiful, beautiful sunny day!

Even though my heart was gloomy.

Funny it is.

Because yesterday, I was an answer to her prayer, so she says.

She called me 'Angel'.

I went to her, offering a helping hand, a chick flick and a lunch.

When she said: 

"How can I repay you?", 

I said: 

"By just by being you, a Ray of Sunshine, 

you just make people happy just by your presence."

Today she was just that to me!

Today

A sweet concerned caring Justine called from paradise.

A little uplifting comment from across the world. Merci Petit Frere...

Sometimes you just need to know someone cares...

Grateful today for an answered prayer.

The last full day Sarah was here, 

she washed all my windows and did some yard work!!!!

Oh and washed my tile floors

Thank you so much! You realy didn't have too...

But I'm enjoying it anyways, a lot!

On the Table:

Sweet Potato cuttings. 

Put them in Water and they will grow roots and keep growing!

Emergency room!!!

It was meant to happen sometimes!

I got the dreaded call at 10:30pm.

"I think I got hurt"

Mike hurt his knee playing Basketball with young guys.
He was able to drive himself to St Luke's emergency room.
Justine and I met him there with food, a pillow, meds and an ice pack.
At 2:30am I went home with his car.
(Hey! One of us had to be awake to put Amelie on the bus in the morning.)
Justine stayed with him until 4:30ich am to drive him home.
That girl is incredible in times of crisis! She always amazes me!
She actually has her daddy's bad leg resting on her leg so he is more comfortable.
He might have a sprained knee or torn ligament.
A MRI test and time will tell the degree of injury.. .

Je m'y attendais un jour ou l'autre!
J'ai reçu le coup de fil redouté a 10:30 du soir.
"je croix que je me suis fait mal!
Mike a abime son genoux en jouant au basket avec des jeunes.
Il a pu se conduire aux urgences de St Luke.
Justine et moi l'on rejoins avec a manger, un oreiller, medicament et un pack de glace.
A 2:30 je suis rentree avec sa voiture. 
(Un de nous deux devait se reveille au petit matin pour mètre Amelie sur le bus.)
Justine est restée avec lui jusqu'à environ 4:30 du matin!
Cette fille est incroyable en temps de crise. Elle m'étonne toujours!
Elle a sa jambe sous celle de son papa pour qu'il soit plus confortable!
Le temps et plus de test nous dirons la gravite de sa blessure.

Humane Society

On President's day, since the kids were out of School,
I took Amelie and Emric to the local dog shelter.

Emric, to start working on his Eagle Scout project. 

Amelie because she wanted to volunteer
(and I'm sure, secretly, wished to take one home...).

After we asked the supervisor what sorts of projects could benefit the shelter, 

we walked some dogs (I did a lot of dog poop picking up too). 

Amelie loved it! I enjoyed it too,
but it was so sad to see all these dogs being abandoned! 

They get around 100 dropped off every day,
 about one third gets adopted. 

A Great Little Brother

A tasty guilty pleasure: Croissants toasted with melted swiss cheese... So good!

Un plaisir culinaire: croissants chaud avec gruyere fondant... Si bon!

So last night after Justine found out that Emric made himself breakfast every morning (and he packs his own lunch, and he feeds the cats, and he takes Chloe out to potty...) asks him:

J: "Hey, Emric, do you want to wake up at 5:30am and make me breakfast too?"

E: ...pause... "sure"

...And He did! What a great kid we have been blessed with!

Hier soir Justine a decouver qu'Emric se fait un petit dejeuner presque tous les matins, (ainsi que prepare son lunch, donne a mange au chats, et s'occupe de Chloe...) Elle lui demande:

J: "Hey, Emric tu veux te lever a 5h30 et me faire le petit dejeuner aussi?"

E: ...pause... "Ok"

... Et il l'a fait! On a ete benis avec un si bon gosse!
