Senior Recognition Night

Well, as if I haven't posted enough about Justine, here's more!
And it's not over yet!

At Church we had a Senior Appreciation Soiree.
Justine made a table about her.

They all went in the hot chair to have a parent talk about them.
We also watched a slide show about each graduating kid.

Here is Justine's
(Makes me already miss her so much and she hasn't left yet!!!)
Where did the time go?
She has been such a pleasure to have in our family!
I am also so excited for her to live the next chapter in her life.
I feel so blessed and privileged to be her Mom.

Aunt Shirley

Mike's Aunt Shirley came to stay with us for a week for Justine's graduation.
She lives in California right next to Disneyland in LA.
And no, she has never entered the park, but enjoys the fireworks every night!

She is so sweet!
Somehow she loves to do everything that needs to be done in the house.
I never have a dirty dish in the sink since she's been here,
or dirty counters, or dirty clothes, wrinkled clothes, even the garbages gets emptied fast,
Stuff gets fixed, phones are back where they belong... etc.
It's like having a little house fairy around.
She is so fast and efficient at getting things done, she is amazing!

Grandma go her the cute sandals above.
She took Justine to get a manicure and pedicure for her big day.
Got her a cute Graduation dress and some clothes for College.
Plus dinner at a chinese restaurant.
She is always so thoughtful!
She is the aunt and great aunt that never forgets a birthday, anniversary, or special event...

Memorial day

We had a great Memorial day!
Mike wedged Grandma in a tube and off we went, floating on the lazy river...
It was so relaxing...
With one very affordable pool pass, we have acces to all 13  neighborhood pools in The Woodlands.
This one is our favorite. It's the only one with the lazy river! :)

Oh, by the way, Justine got her very own 1st job!!!
She is working for the Woodlands pools as a Swimming Instructor!
She is so excited!
She will start her training next week-end.

Double Graduations

Yesterday, Justine got recognized for completing 2 big things at Church.
She completed her Personal Progress she has been working on for the past 6 years.
Well, she really did it in 4 years cause she started a little late.
She got her cute medallion.

The other accomplishment, was for finishing 4 years of early Seminary.
Before every school day,
she would go to a scripture study class offered by our church at 6 am
before she started her high school day.

We are so proud of our girl!
Way to go Justine!!!!

We finished the day by going to a small Memorial day
firework celebration in the Woodlands City center, called the waterway.

Bird Attack!!!

Tonight, as I was walking Chloe just around the corner from our house, I was talking to Mike on the phone, when,  suddenly I got attacked by a bird!!!  (looked a little like the one in picture). It dove-bombed 4 times on me, each time hitting my back! I hurried out of what I thought was the area it was trying to protect. My guess is, it was seeing me as a threat to it's nest? Or wanted my hair for nest material? Come to think of it it was pretty agressif, yelling and angry!
Mike wants to go walk by there to see if it will attack again...
I'll be sure to keep my distances and maybe get a shot of the bird!
I must say I have never been attacked by a bird like that before!
It was freaky!

Belleville a Typical Small Texas Town with a very French Name

Translation: 'Beautiful Town'

County Road Trip

Grandma Nakata is visiting us from Utah for a couple of weeks.
She wanted to see 'Texas' so we took her for a little drive in the Texas country side.

During the trip, out of the Blue
Amelie asked: "Grandma, were you in the silver war?"
Mike: "You meen the Civil War?"
Amelie :"Yes that one!"
Grandma Laughing: "Oh, I'm not that old!!!

We sure had a quick out of that comment!

Our Very Own Little Place of Heaven on Earth

I love planting flowers every year!
I love our back yard!
I love eating lunch and reading there...
Oh and did I ever mention I love my dog!

Disturbing House Guest

This week-end Chloe found a couple of disturbing house guests
hiding in our family room!
Our very own  cockroaches!
Yeeew!

Justine is the one that diposed of them down the toilet.
At a cost though!
She had a nightmarish dream about an invasion of them in the sound system!!!

I knew they were common in Houston and had seen a few dead ones
in homes we had visited while looking for a house before we moved here.
I guess I should count my blessings since this is the first sighting
in our home in a year and a half!

Needless to say, I have made an appointment for our BugMan
to come spray the house and yard this coming tuesday!
I knew there was something I had forgotten to do this spring...
This is a definite reminder!

It's Swim Season again!

The end of school is approching so fast!
It really is feeling like summer now!
2 more weeks of school. I must say,
I'm quite excited and looking forward to enjoying
the Woodlands pools, reading and swimming.

I am sitting in the shade at Amelie's first swim meet.
She is beating all her current times!
They started swim practice after school a couple of weeks ago.
