Forest Fall Festival

We took Amelie and her little neighbor friend to Jones forest where I walk Chloe almost everyday.
The organisation that rescues and protects wild animals put on a little festival.

Amelie and Maddie waited almost an hour so they could do the jumping/trampoling thing.
They had some good fun!
(More pictures to come)
My Halloween Decortion this year is on my car!

Fall Festivities

Tonight we had our yearly fall Festival at our church.
This year we had a Truck-O-Treet
Emric was a modern Harry Potter
Amelie; Cat from the show 'Victorious'
She can speek just like her and kinda looks like her too!

My Rat Car
We also had a Chili Cook-off
I made a White Chichen Chili

The kids had a few games stations put on by the youth.

I was wearing boots and gloves!
It was the first day of real cold, barely in 60's!
Not to worry though, we will be back in the 80's by next Wed.

For now I will enjoy wearing my warmer clothes hats and scarves...

My Chili was gone very fast! It is an awesome recipie!

Sweet Potato Vine - It Grows Like a Weed

It's been a learning curve:
Knowing what flowers and plants can withstand
the Houston weather,
my piney shady back yard
and my dog who will dig up anything I plant in the ground.

Well, I know that Sweet Potato Vine loves it here and loves my back yard!
I also started planting stuff in pots, Chloe can't dig those up!
(I had tried covering new plants with rocks but it didn't work, she loves that tender soft dug up dirt)
Oh by the way there are 2 growing seasons here!
Spring and fall!
Pretty cool!

All that green vine on the ground in the middle of my yard
was one tiny Vine planted in a big pot! You can't even see the pot, it's covered!

I miss the Fall in Ohio

I did find a few colors in the greenbelt behind our house,
but no way near the colors we find in Ohio...
I've been walking Chloe there because
Jones Forest is closed to the public for major logging and cleaning up.

Beautiful fall just around the corner!

Today was the first day that I was able to open my windows all day long! It was a beautiful day! Not too hot or humid.
Strang little bug Emric found while waiting for his bus. He had to have a picture of it!

Me and my girls!

Can you find the monkey hanging in the tree? Pouvez-vous trouver le singe dans l'arbre?

I took some pictures this afternoon in our yard... before all the leaves fall.

Colors of the fall and pumpkins...

We returned from Florida just in time to see the beautiful colors of the trees here in Ohio! I just love the fall! As soon as we got back from Australia, Mike had to leave again for Florida for another 2 to 3 weeks, so Alexi, Amelie and I went with him. But unfortunately I forgot my Camera in the car at the airport! I was so sad ...
J'etais bien triste!

The Fall in Ohio

L'automne
The Fall

Fall has to be my favorite season of the year especialy here in Ohio! There is nothing like taking a drive early morning or around 5pm and seeing nature on fire!

Kirtland

On of our favorite places to go to in Ohio was Kirkland.
There, we would visit our 1st LDS Temple ever built.
We would visit houses and grounds where our Pioneer Religious ancestors first walked.

A beautiful and quiet place, ideal for pondering gratitude and remembering.
Well, that is if you don't have some obnoxious kids running around trying to keep them under control!
Right kids?
They are so cute though, with their adorable smiling faces...
Why am I not smiling and adorable like them?
Judging from my picture... I don't look peaceful or grateful!
What do you think?
More like frustrated and/or exhausted?
