New Dress

I got this dress at Kohl's for $15 in the Clearances a few months ago.
I wore it today for the first time...
It was a couple of inches too short to my taste.
So I bought a little black extension for $10.
I sowed it by hand during Women's conference last night.
It took me 3 hours to do it when it would have taken me 10 mn with a sewing machine!
Unfortunately my machine broke 4 months ago!
It had a pink ruban as a belt, I also changed it for a blue one.
I might wear the pink one too...

Last Pool day!

Some of the pools stay open on the week-end past Laborday! 

One of them is our Favorite the one with the lazy river...

We went almost every Saturday in September. 

We missed the last day... It rain all day! :(

My forest

Now that the weather is cooler in the mornings, I love my daily walks even more!

Sweet Potato Vine - It Grows Like a Weed

It's been a learning curve:

Knowing what flowers and plants can withstand

the Houston weather, 

my piney shady back yard 

and my dog who will dig up anything I plant in the ground.

Well, I know that Sweet Potato Vine loves it here and loves my back yard!

I also started planting stuff in pots, Chloe can't dig those up!

(I had tried covering new plants with rocks but it didn't work, she loves that tender soft dug up dirt) 

Oh by the way there are 2 growing seasons here! 

Spring and fall! 

Pretty cool!

    All that green vine on the ground in the middle of my yard 
was one tiny Vine planted in a big pot! You can't even see the pot, it's covered!

Date night

My Man and I try to date every week. 

I like to stay mostly in the woodlands, 

but once in a while I agree to go discover some of what Houston has to offer... 

This is City Center. 

It has restaurants, little shops, a movie theater,

an open area where families and people hang out with live music

 on the week-end, and sometimes, art displays from local artists...

Pretty Cool...

Oh! I got told by a security gard as I was taking pictures of this cool fire pit 

that photos were not allowed. 

This particular fire pits and water art are actually private!

I could take a picture of someone in front of it but not it by itself!

How could anyone know that?

Go figure?

Better to see through

The last full day Sarah was here, 

she washed all my windows and did some yard work!!!!

Oh and washed my tile floors

Thank you so much! You realy didn't have too...

But I'm enjoying it anyways, a lot!

On the Table:

Sweet Potato cuttings. 

Put them in Water and they will grow roots and keep growing!

Time Out For Women

This is the first time I attend Time out for Women here in Houston.
It waas held 15 mn from home.
At the Marriott downtown The Woodlands.
Sarah came and stayed for a week so we could go together.
Aude also came for 3 days.
That was the first one she ever attended.
We had a great time!

Hubble and Hudson

We like Hubble and Hudson! 

It's my replacement for Jungle Jim in Cincinnati.

Well... It's not as big, awesome and cheeper than JJim's...

But it has some yummy french deserts, and delicious soups, 

like carrot ginger and tomato-basil-bisque...!

That is what we had for lunch and desert during TOFW!

Summer Storm

Today Justine is taking off for Hawaii!

I will for sure miss my girl.

But I am so excited for her, and I must admit, a tad jealous!

I do love watching my kids spread their wings and enjoy what life has to offer!

Life changes. 

Babies and little girls grow up and become women... 

What a privilege it is as a mother, to be part of another's life like that!

I feel blessed to have been part of her life, and hopefully I have been a good mother to her.

Sure, I won't be as involved in her life as in the past 18 years, and that's ok.

It will take a little adjusting too though...

Regardless, she will always be my girl for the rest of her life and beyond! 

I'm exited for her next chapter...

Justine, you are a great 'Little' person with a great 'Big' heart!

You have the world at your feet... Well right now: Hawaii!

Lake Conroe Fun

 Mike wanted to something really fun that we would all remember before Justine left for College.

We got a Groupon for 2 hours of JetSkies on Lake Conroe.

It was so much Fun and very Memorable!!!! 

We had such a good time as a family!

Amelie and Emric were even friends for those 2 hours!!!!
I mainly stayed on with Mike.
We did some swapping though!
I went with Emric, and boy did I not feel secure holding on to his skinny, though muscly body...
I was bouncing and was afraid to fall off as he drove fast and faster.
I much preferred holding on to Mike's body mass!
Or being in the driver seat and having the handles to hold on to.
Made me feel much more secure...

Good Times...

After we were done, Justine got calf-deep in this mucky water, 

it must have had 4 inches of clay-mud we would sink in. 

Well, she dropped her driving license in it!

Let me tell you;

It was a Miracle she found it!

A worker guy told us there are so many sunglasses in there that were never recovered
And there was no way she would find her license!

As he said that, justine put her hand down in the muck one last time and pulled out her license!!!

She had been looking in the mud for at least 15mn...
It's a good thing because the next day she needed it to fly to Hawaii.
