Arriving in Kona

We were delighted to see the blue of the ocean as we flew into Kona.
And the total desolation of where the lava came down the hill all the way to the ocean.
At the tiny-open-air Kona Airport we were greeted by beautiful flowering trees,
they are everywhere in Hawaii and gorgeous!
After we got our rental car we drove up the coast and stopped at Kekaha Kai State Park to a beach.
The road was very rough! Our 1st experience with Lava rocks!
WE were seriously worried about our car tires!
 At the end, a beach.
Further up the coast we stop at another little beach where a Wedding was in process!

Orchids & Hope & Life

"...I must have flowers, always, always."

Claude Monet

My Orchids have flowered once more.
I thought they were dead from lack of watering for a month.
After caring for it a little better,
It bloomed even more beautifully than before!

What a little caring and love can do after hope seams gone...

Life is Beautiful and Amazing.

Sweet Potato Vine - It Grows Like a Weed

It's been a learning curve:
Knowing what flowers and plants can withstand
the Houston weather,
my piney shady back yard
and my dog who will dig up anything I plant in the ground.

Well, I know that Sweet Potato Vine loves it here and loves my back yard!
I also started planting stuff in pots, Chloe can't dig those up!
(I had tried covering new plants with rocks but it didn't work, she loves that tender soft dug up dirt)
Oh by the way there are 2 growing seasons here!
Spring and fall!
Pretty cool!

All that green vine on the ground in the middle of my yard
was one tiny Vine planted in a big pot! You can't even see the pot, it's covered!

Oups broken Flower!

I didn't mean to, but I broke this flower stem while taking pictures... These flowers are so delicate! But it does look rather cute on my window seal!

Je n'ai pas fait espres de casser cette tige en prennant des photos... ces fleurs sont si delicate!
Mais je dois admettre qu'elles vont bien devant ma fenètre!

First signs of spring

After a few days of warm weather, here is what popped up! I love the spring, everything is waking up, colors are coming back, and sandals are getting back on my feet!

Apres quelques jours de temps doux, voila ce qui est resortit! J'aime le printemps, tout se reveille, les couleurs reviennent et mes sandales sont de retours sur mes pieds!
