Daddy Daughter Date

While the Browns were visiting us, 

Mike, Amelie, Danny & Clara went to a Daddy/Daughter date at church.

The dads got the whole treatment!

Manicures, full facials, and a personal custom decorated cake!

The Girls LOVED it!

Cousins

Justine left us to return to Hawaii early.

She got to spent a few days with family and friends in Salt Lake City before heading back to college.

She had the joy of meeting the youngest addition to the Nakata Family Kaelyn!

A little Sunshine

We took a little break to bask in the Sun.

( just so it's clear it's probably over 95 degrees)

The air conditioning can chill us to the bones!

I've never gotten used to it!

Americans like their buildings cold!

Everywhere I go, I bring a sweater or jacket when I know there is going to be AC.

You should see me going to church; 

I bring sweaters, blankets and/or a shawl to wear inside our chapel!

And when I walk out into the Texas heat, I take the layers of!

It's really like an upside down world!

The Houston Art Museum

So this Museum is awesome!

What made it very awesome was the people I went with!

We had a lot of fun and laughs!

Plan on spending the whole day.

Thursdays are free.

There is a little restaurant with descent food inside or a food truck outside.

It is full of beautiful pieces of art and artifacts from all over the world and centuries.

Well worth the visit!

A Texan Country Experience

A night at a true Texas Country Bar

We had a fun evening observing some interesting people, 

eating some greasy American food, 

playing some pool, 

listening to real country music,

we even took a twirl on the small dance floor and did some country dancing.

I had my Cowgirl boots on and loved dancing in them! :)

I personally think that they must have been made for dancing and horseback riding!  

Oh and for the record:

Mike and I beat Jean Claude at a game of pool!!!!

He did win some but was not the all around winner!

Camille

I always love to have my little niece Camille come visit!

She usually cleans or organizes something.

This time she cleaned up the back yard,

helped in kitchen and made us a very yummy Apple-Almond cake!
Reciepie here, just substitute cherries with apples.

The batter wasn't bad either... It's my favorite!

I told her she is someday going to be an awesome wife and mom!

Saturday - Beach Day

We spent a couple of hours walking on the beach.

Only Clara and Amelie went for a swim, the water was still at a good temperature.

Today there was no black see-weed on the beach!!!
Nice!

Shopping & Red Mango & Trader's Joe

Audie, Clara, Amelie and I went to the mall for a little shopping.
Aude wanted to bye a Grace hat like mine.

Audie took me to the Red Mango!

Oh Boy! 

I think I am going to visit that place from now on!
Yes, a perfect Date Night!!!!

The White Peach frozen yogurt is to die for!

We went back the next day to the grand opening of a new restaurant in the Woodlands.

They had free cups all day!!!

They are right next to Traders Joe.

We discovered that place too!!!

Tons of good stuff in there at reasonable prices!

August Happenings

In August we stayed home for the most part.

Corentin came and stayed with us for almost 3 weeks.

We went to the pool a lot. 

Stayed cool and had a trip to the beach.

Mike took the kids to the movies and to a Astro Baseball game.
We went to a couple of free concerts in the Woodlands at night.

Justine had to work odd hours throughout the day at different pools teaching swim lessons, 

since we shared a car, I couldn't go very far.

Mike:
I want you to put Corentin's body on me! :)

Polynesian Show 'RA'

We had a fun evening after the Humanitarian Center watching 'RA'

Gave us all a taste of what Justine is going to experience in Hawaii...
