Sarah

I am so lucky to have spent 8 days with my friend Sarah.
She came to visit me! We always pick up right were we left off.
Daily walks. Long talks.
Sharing of feelings, ideas, dreams and silliness.
I am so lucky to have such a long lasting friendship.
A friendship that gets better with time, and does not fade with distance.
In a lifetime those kind of friendships can often be counted on one hand.
I know that they are rare and need to be nourished and cherished...
Thank you Sarah for loving me!
In case you are wondering why Amelie is leashed up in the pictures
and is wearing garden gloves:
It is to better pretend she is a dog and run on the forest floor
on all fours like them!
Her dog name that day was Bella!

Accepted To BYU Hawaii!!!

Asleep @1 am
Justine:
"Guess what!? Guess what!?"
Mike:
What?
Justine:
"I got accepted to BYU Hawaii!"
Mike raising both hands for a double high five:
"Good Job!!!"
Me, shooting up from the bed:
"No Way!!!!"

Sometime after 2:30 am
Me, after tossing for 1 hour and a half:
 I finally fall asleep...

Humane Society

On President's day, since the kids were out of School,
I took Amelie and Emric to the local dog shelter.
Emric, to start working on his Eagle Scout project.
Amelie because she wanted to volunteer
(and I'm sure, secretly, wished to take one home...).
After we asked the supervisor what sorts of projects could benefit the shelter,
we walked some dogs (I did a lot of dog poop picking up too).
Amelie loved it! I enjoyed it too,
but it was so sad to see all these dogs being abandoned!
They get around 100 dropped off every day,
 about one third gets adopted.
