Hill Cumorah Pageant

Here, we are gathering for the hill Cumorah pageant. I had not seen it in 6 years, I was very impressed at the special effects and the quality of the play. Our Bishop and his family were part of it this year. The actors are all volunteers, they spend a week rehearsing and preform for 2 weeks. I would love to do this as a family once!

Nous voici reunis pour la piece de theatre en plein air sur la coline Cumorah. Cela faisait 6 ans depuis que je ne l'ai vu. J'ai ete tres impressionee par les effets speciaux et la qualite. Notre Bishop et sa famille etaient dedans cette annee. Tous les acteurs sont des familles qui sont volontaires, ils s'entrainnent pour une semaine et performent pour 2. J'aimerais beaucoup faire cela un de ces quatre!

Canning

I am trying my hand at Canning. This year the cherry tree I planted 3 years ago gave some wonderful sweet cherries... I couldn't eat them all before they would go bad, so a friend came by to help me last night. She had come during the winter to show me how to can chicken breast. It really is not that difficult, especially when someone with experience helps! :)
It is so satisfying to see the finished product! (I leave them on my counter for a few days before I put them away!) It will be even more satisfying when I open the 1st one to see how it all turned out! I hope they are as good as they were fresh! YUM!


J'essaye ma main a faire des bocaux . Cette annee, mon cerisier, que j'ai planter il y a 3 ans, nous a donne de bien belles et delicieuses cerises... Je ne pouvais pas les manger toutes avant qu'elle ne pourissent, alors, une amie est venue hier soire pour me montrer comment les metre en bocaux. Elle m'a deja montre comment faire du poulet en bocal cet hiver. C'est vraiement pas trop complique, surtout quand on a quelqu'un avec de l'experience qui nous aide! :)
C'est tres satisfaisant de voire le produit fini! (je les garde sur mon contoire pdt qlqes jours avant de les ranger!) J'ai hate d'ouvrir mon 1er bocal pour voire si elles sont bonnes comme ca! YUM!

Meet Anabelle...

Je vous presente Anabelle... ma nouvelle meilleur amie.
Je l'aime! Elle est superb, j'aime le son de sa voie reconfortante et jamais elle se met en colere ou est impatiente avec moi quand je ne suit pas ses directions!
Ok, je ne l'utilise pas a Cincinnati car cela fait 13 ans que nous habitons ici. Mais je la prete a mon amie Sarah qui elle en a bien besoin car cela ne fait que 6 ans qu'elle est ici, et elle se perd toujours!!!!! Mais dans un endroit inconnu, quel bonheur, pure liberte! Je peux aller n'importe ou et etre csure de ne pas me perdre!
Je l'ai beaucoup utilisee la semaine derniere quand je suis allee avec Mike a Philadelfi. Sans Anabelle je serai restee pret de l'hotel. J'aime l'est des USA. C'est tout vert, cela ressemble a l'angleterre, des colines, des vielles maisons, plein d'arbres.

I love her! She is awesome! I love the sound of her voice. Never does she get upset at me when I don't follow her directions.
OK, I don't use her in Cincinnati, after living here for 13 years, I know my way around. So I let my good friend Sarah use her, for she only has been here for 6 years and she is still getting lost!!!! But in a unknown place, what a lifesaver, pure freedom! I can go anywhere and feel confident that I won't get lost.
I used her a lot in Philadelphia on my six day retreat with Mike. Without Anabelle, I would have stayed close to the hotel.
I love the east of the US, it is so green, the Philadelphia area looks like England. Neat old houses, rolling hills, lots of trees... Just lovely!

Stinky but delicious!

This morning, after Mike gave me a kiss:
Him: What did you eat last night?
Moi: A vegy burger... Why?
Him: You smell like something is rotting inside you!
Moi: Ah... it must be the raclette cheese I ate at lunch with some girl friends! The cheese... It smells like feet but is, Oh... so good and yummy! :)

Ce matin, apres que Mike m'ai donne un bisou:
Lui: Tu as manger quoi hier soir?
Moi: Un burger vegetale, pourquoi?
Lui: Tu pu comme si il y avait quelque chose qui pourris en toi!
Moi: Ah... cela doit etre le fromage a raclette que j'ai manger avec des copines le midi! Le framage pu comme des pieds, mais c'est si bon et delicieux! :)

Welcome to motherhood Justine! Well not yet!

As a project for a class in school, Justine brought home a baby that she had to take care from 4 pm till the morning. The baby needed feeding, burping, dipper changes or simply some tender loving care every 2 to 3 hours! These pictures were taken around midnight! Needless to say that she did not get a lot of sleep! she did get a good grade though... but i don't think she is ready to have a baby. At one point, in the afternoon, Amelie was crying because she wanted to play with the baby, the baby was criying, and Justine was about to cry cause she was so stressed out! Welcome to motherhood! :) hihihi!

Pour une de ses classe a l'ecole, Justine est rentree avec un bebe qu'elle a du s'occuper de 16 heures jusqu'au matin. Environ toutes les 2, 3 heures le bebe pleurait et il fallait soit lui changer la couche, lui donner le biberon, lui faire un rot ou tout simplement lui donner un peu d'affection en le bercant. Ces photos on ete prise vers minuit! Pas besoins de dire qu'elle n'a pas beaucoup dormis cette nuit la! Elle a eu une bonne note, mais elle n'est pas prete a avoire un bebe! A un moment dans la soiree, il y avait Amelie qui pleurait car elle voulait jouer avec le bebe, le bebe qui pleurait je ne sais plus pourquoi, et justine qui etait au bord des larme elle aussi telement elle etait stressee! Bienvenue a la vie de maman! Hihihi!

On ne peux pas avoir assez de sac a main...

C'etait le coup de foudre des que je l'ai vu! je l'ai trouve bien sympa! Comme d'habitude j'ai retourne l'etiquette en m'attendant a un prix enorme, (et oui, j'ai des gouts de luxe) mais non, quelle fut ma joie quand c'etait raisonable! :)

It was love at first sight! I found it so cute! As I turned the price tag over, expecting an outrageous price, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was very reasonable... (Usually the ones I like are the expensive ones...)

Bonne fete des Meres en France!

Yesterday, Justine, Amelie and I were at the wedding of our good friend Lasah Narciso, now Chapman. Amelie was a flower girl and I took pictures... Lasah has been her sitter since she was a baby! She loves her like a second mom! And we love her too, she is like a ray of sunshine! :)

We had a great day today, our meetings at church were only an hour. We stayed after for the baptism of Aubrey, Lasah's little sister. We then ate the leftovers of the wedding.
When it was time to go home, from church, I found Amelie running like a dog in the halls with her skirt tucked in her bloomers!

A friend said: Wow, she is good on all fours!
Me: She gets a lot of practice, she got the "BEST DOG IMITATION" award at preschool!
Him: Must make a parent proud!
Me: Yep, that's my girl our should I say my dog! :)

Hier, Justine, Amelie et moi etaient partie toute la journee pour le mariage de Lasah Narciso, maintenant Chapman. Lasah a ete notre babysitter depuis qu'Amelie est nee. Elle l'aime comme une deuxieme maman. Et nous l'aimons aussi; elle est comme un rayon de soleil!
Nous avons eu une bonne jurnee aujourd'hui. Nos reunions a l'eglise n'etaient qu'une heure. Apres nous sommes alles au bapteme de la petite soeur de la mariee: Aubrey. Nous avons ensuite mange des restants du mariage. Quand c'etait l'heure de rentrer, j'ai trouve Amelie qui courait a 4 pattes dans le couloir, comme un chien! Elle avait rentre sa jupe dans son petit capris blanc que je lui met sous ses robes.
Un amis a remarque et a dit: Wow! Elle court bien a quatre pattes!
Moi: Oui elle a beaucoup d'entrainement. A son ecole, elle a recu un certificat qui dit "Meilleure immitation de chien"
Lui: Mmmm, cela doit rendre un parent bien fier!
Moi: Yep, c'est ma fille, ou plutot mon chien!

Mother's day

Les hommes de notre eglise se sont surpasse a nouveau cette annee. Pour la fete des meres, ils nous on surpris avec un leger repas avec fruit, gateaux, sandwish et des fleurs a planter! Ils se sont aussi occuper d'enseigner la primaire et jeunes filles pour que toutes les soeurs ailles a la Societe de Secour.
Je me sens benie d'etre une femme aujourd'hui et d'etre une maman, meme si c'est pas toujours facile, mais je sais que cela en vaux la peine.

Mike est en Europe pour 2 semaines, il visite sa soeur en Angleterre, puis il va travailler au Danemark, a Frankfort et a Marseille.

The men at our church did it again! They put on a spread after church, for us, the women in their lives... Fruit, desert, sandwishes, and a flower to plant! They even took care of teaching primary and young women the last hour of our meetings, so all the women could be together and enjoy our lunch! I feel blessed today to be a woman and a mother. It's not always easy, but it is worth it!

Mike is gone until the 27th of may, he is in England visiting his Sister's family, then he is going to work in Danemark, Frankfurt Gremany and Marseille France.

Ikea

I finally went there today! We have an Ikea 10mn from our house that opened at the beginning of march. Yep, I only went today, while Amelie was in school to dream a little! I did get a couple of things though! :)
Ca y est je suis finalement allee a Ikea qui a ouvert debut Mars a 10 mn de chez nous. Je suis allee revee pendant qu'Amelie etait a l'ecole. J'ai quand meme acheter quelques petits trucks! :)

Needle fear!!

Today was an eye opener for me! After years of being a "grown up" and holding my kids down for their own immunisations, I thought I was over the needle fear! And I have had so many IVs in my arms that a little needle did not scare me one bit! Well I was wrong...
Today I went to take a "Hepatitis A" vaccine paid for by a restaurant that Mike and I had eaten at on March 15Th. It turned out there was someone working there that was contaminated. So every one that ate there during the time the employee was there was told to get the vaccine... So I went, not thinking twice or guessing that this old fear would resurface!
Right after the shot, as I was talking to the nurse, I started to feel dizzy and had to sit down. Next thing I remember, I was laying on the floor sweaty and cold, a very strong smell was helping me return to my senses. I remember hearing a big thump while everything was dark: my head hitting the cold hard floor. As I regained my strength, a pour little girl was terrified and was crying! I wonder if seeing me on the floor helped in her fears!

Aujourdh'hui, j'ai ete surprise par une reaction d'enfance qui est revenue... Apres des anees a tenir mes enfants sur mes genoux pendant qu'ils ont leur vaccinations, et apres avoire eu pleins de prises de sang, c'est pas une petite ceringue qui allait me faire peur! Ben, j'avais tore!
Je suis allee prendre un vaccin pour l'Hepatite A qui etait paye par un restaurent que Mike et moi avons frequenter le 15 mars. Un des employer etait contaminer! Donc tous ceux qui y ont manger quand il etait la on ete conseille de se faire vacciner. Donc je me suis presentee en toute confidance pour mon vaccin, ne pensant pas que mes anciennes angoisse allait se reformer!
Apres la picure, je parlais un peu avec l'infermiere quand j'ai commencer a me sentir mal. Je me suis assise. PuisJ je me suis retrouvee allongee par terre, toute en sueur et glacee, avec un forte odeur qui m'a aide a retrouver mes esprits. Je me souvient d'un bruit tres fort quand tout etait noire: celui de ma tete qui a fait contact avec le parterre dur et froid.
Quand j'ai retrouve mes forces, j'ai obeserve une pauvre petite fille qui pleurait et qui etait terrifiee de l'eguille, je me suis demande si le fait de m'avoir vu parterre l'a tromatise encore plus!

A very bad tooth fairy!

We have a bad tooth fairy in the Nakata household! It took a month for the fairy to put the well anticipated money under Emric's pillow. He lost one tooth; no fairy, 2 weeks later another was added; no fairy, and finally another tooth 2 week later; again no fairy! She finally came after a month of poor Emric so patiently checking under his pillow almost every day!... He occasionally would tell me: "She must be very busy?" What he didn't know was that she is really an air head! What a slacker that one!

Nous avons dans la famille Nakata, une souris tres feignante! Cela lui a pris un mois pour venir remplacer les dents d'Emric avec des sous! Je dit bien "les dents" car il y en avait 3! Emric les a perdu l'une apres l'autre. Apres la 1ere mise sous son oreiller; pas de souris! 2 Semaines apres, il a ajouter la 2eme; pas de souris. 2 semaines apres, encore une dent qui se rajoute; et toujours pas de souris! Elle est finalement venue peu apres! Pauvre Emric etait bien patient en regardant tous les jours sous son oreiller! Il me disait: "Ben dit donc elle doit bien etre accupee!" Ce qu'il ne sais pas c'est qu'elle est bien tete en l'aire!

Last day of winter!

Yesterday, on the last official day of winter, after raining for 2 days strait, the rain turned to snow! But today, the snow is gone, it is sunny and a little warmer! :) Feels more like spring! I am so ready for the warm weather to come back!

Hier, pour le dernier jour officiel de l'hivers, il a neige apres avoir plu pendant 2 jours sans s'arreter. Mais aujourd'hui, n'y a plus de neige, il y a un grand soliel et il fait un peu plus chaud! C'est plus comme il printemps! Je suis prete a ce que les beaux jours de chaleur reviennent...

Night time walk

After it snowed all day, we went for a walk around the nieghborhood... My favorite part of the day! :) I love to walk in freshly fallen snow, when all is peaceful, calm and light from the reflecting snow.
Apres qu'il ai neige toute la journee, nous sommes alle nous promener... Mon moment favorit de la journee! J'aime marcher dans le neige qui vient juste de tomber, quand tout et paisible, calm et claire.
