Happy Birthday Amelie!

Hier nous avons celebre l'anniversaire d'Amelie. Elle a eu 5 ans le 21! Quelle grande fille! Comme le temps passe vite!

We celebrated Amelie's Birthday yesterday! She turned 5 on the 21st! What a big girl she is! Time flies...

Lunar eclipes

On the 22th Mike, who was watching the nightly news (which is rare) said:"Go outside, there is a lunar eclipse!" So I did with my camera and tripod! It was freezing, but I stayed there until I got a good shot of it! The sky was clear... How lucky was that?

Le 22 Mike, qui regardait les info (ce qui est rare) nous a dit: "allez voir dehord, il y a une eclipse!" Ce que j'ai fait tout de suite avec ma camera et mon tripod! Il faisait froid, mais je suis restee jusqu'a ce que j'ai une bonne photo! Le ciel etait claire... Quelle chance!

Another Snow day!

Yep, again those infamouse 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30am phone calls from school! No school, cause Cincinnati's got 2 inches of snow on the ground!

ET oui, encore ces appels de "bonheur" le matin, 5h30, 6h30 et 7h30 des ecoles! Pas d'ecole; parce qu'il y a 4 cm de neige sur Cincinnati!

Perfect North

Samedi dernier, Justine, Emric et moi somes aller a 45mn de chez nous a Perfect North une petite station de ski avec de la neige artificielle, avec une autre famille. C'etait super! Je n'ai pas pris beaucoup de photos car j'ai prefere faire du ski! J'ai tombe une foi! Pas mal pour quelqu'un qui n'en fait presque jamais! Emric s'est bien debroule et Justine aussi: c'etait leur 1ere foi. Justine et moi avons pris leur classe de debutant. Justine a essayer le snowbording; la, on passe plus de temps sur les fesses qu'autre chose! Le temps etait parfait, plein de soleil! Des que j'ai sorti mon appareille, il s'est cache! On a eu meme trop chaud! Que de bons souvenir... Meme si mes mollets etaent douloureux pour 2 jours apres, cela en vallait trop le coup! Oh Alexi n'a pas voulu venir: "J'aime pas la neige!" il a dit!

Last Saturday, Emric, Justine and I went with a family to Perfect North, a little ski resort 45mn from our home. It was awesome! I didn't take a lot of pictures cause I didn't want to loose a minute of ski! I fell once! Not bad for someone that rarely skiis! Emric and Justine did very well! Justine and I took their begginner or refresher classes... Justine tried snowbording... I personaly think that too much time is spent on your deriere than anything else! The weather was perfect! We even got too hot! But the sun disapeard as soon as I was done skiing and took out my camera! A day full of fun memories! Even if my calfs were sore for the next 2 days! Oh Alexi didn't want to come: "I don't like snow" he said!

Snow Day!

Yesterday, I was rudely woken up, real early (like 6 am) by the school, the message: No School! It's a snow day! I spent most of the day in pj's... I took my own "snow day" off! I played on the computer most of the day! I did manage to cut Alexi's hair, and make a couple of sandwishes for mike and I. The kids went to play in the snow and we all went to see The Waterhorse with Dad in the evening (without Alexi). Mike got back from Dallas around noon and is leaving again today till next Monday! He is working there and is being interviewed to be hired. But that is a whole other story...

Hier, J'ai ete rudement eveillee vers 6 heure du matin par l'ecole, le message: "Pas d'ecole! Jour de neige!" Ben moi aussi j' ai pris un "jour de neige"! J'ai passe presque toute la journee en pjama a jouer sur l'ordi. J'ai quand meme couper les cheveux a Alexi et fait 2 sandwiches pour Mike et moi. Les enfants on jouer dans la neige, et nous sommes tous aller voire avec Mike "The Waterhorse" (sans Alexi)
Mike est rentrer de Dallas vers midi et repart aujourdh'hui jusqu'a Lundi! Il travaille en ce moment laba et se fait interviewer, pour se faire embaucher, mais ca c'est toute une autre histoire...

Chinese New Year...

My friend Denise called me Saturday to see if Mike and I wanted to go to a Chinese New Year dinner and celebration! Of course I said "We're there!" :) It was a lot of Fun! Chinese food, face painting, music, Ti Chi demostration, games and dances... They had a chinese group of young Dances that were so elegant and graceful! That was for me the highlight of the evening! I was able to take pictures of one of their dances but not the first and best one.

Mon amie Denise nous a appele Samedi pour nous inviter le soire meme a aller a une cetlebration de nouvel an Chinoise. Biensur, j'ai dit "On vient!" C'etait super! Un buffet chinoix authentique, des geux, de la music, demonstration Ti Chi, et des danses. Ils ont fait venir un groupe de jeunes fille de la Chine, qui etaient tres elegantes et avait beaucoup de grace... C'etati mon truc preferer! J'ai pu prendre des photos de leur 2eme dance, mais pas de la 1ere qui etait genial!

Petite seance de photo avec Mike apres l'eglise! Cela n'arrive pratiquement jamais et quand je le prend en photo il fait tres souvent des grimaces... Je le trouve beau dans ma cravate et chemise preferee! :)

At the car wash!

So last week, after the snow, my car was so dirty that I decided to get it clean! I couldn't stand the white dirt any longer! So I go to the first gas station I see that has a car wash. I get all ready, pay at the automated machine and there goes my car into the car wash! I'm so excited to get it clean! The big roller starts to come up the front of my van, and suddenly I remembered that I have this big carrier on top of my car! There is no way the roller was going to go over that! And of course it didn't! I started to panic and think "OH NO! What am I going to do?" So I put the car in park! It can't go forward anyway! So here I am, stuck in the car wash, with all the rollers going, water and soap spraying! I decide to start honking my horn, in hopes that the people in the next building would hear me! But of course they don't! I even think of calling 911! I have no choice but to wait. Lucky for me, after what seems to be an eternity, all the machines stop! (about 5mn really) and I was able to get my car out! What an adventure! And boy, did I feel stupid! The front of my car is a little cleaner, but the back is more of a mess with all the streaks of soap!

La semaine derniere, apres la neige, ma voiture etait toute sale! Cela me demangait telement que j'ai decider de la netoyer. J'ai trouve la premiere station de service avec un netoyage de voiture automantique. J'ai paye et mis ma voiture au neutre et me voila qui avance dans le lavage automatique. Quand le gros rouleau monte sur le devant de ma voiture, je me souviens avec horreur que j'ai ce gros truck sur mon toit et que le rouleau ne passera pas! J'avais bien raison! Donc me voila coincee, avec tout en marche, de l'eau et du savon qui volent partout! Je decide de sonner mon claxone en esperant que les gens de la station vont m'entendre, mais biensur ca sert a rien! J'ai meme pense a appeler les urgences! J'ai pas de choix que d'attendre... Apres ce qui me semble une eternite, les rouleaux s'arretent un par un et le lavage s'ouvre... J'ai pu sortir ma voiture! Quel aventure! Et comme je me suis sentie stupid! Le devant de ma voiture est un peu plus propre, mais le deriere... bien il a plein de savon dessus!

My New Passion!

I have been doing yoga about once a week for quite a few years now... Since I am not swimming anymore (only in the summer), I have found in Yoga, a way of relaxing, keeping toned and energising my body and spirit. I love Yoga! I need all that it has to offer! And the best part of it, is that Mike is starting to do it with me! Something we can do together! Among the very many benefits of yoga, I love the fact that I do not need to leave the house, I can do it right at home, when I want! It is so relaxing that I can even do it late a night... I do it almost everyday! All I need is moi, a mat, and a good Yoga instructional DVD and I'm set to go!Cela fait plusieurs annees que je fais du yoga une foi par semaine avec une amie... Comme je ne nage plus (seulement en ete) j'ai trouve qu'en faisant du yoga, je me sens plus relax, j'ai plus d'energie, et cela me garde en bonne sante, corp et esprit! J'aime trop ! J'ai besoin de tout ce que yoga a a offrir... Ce qui est super, c'est que Mike commence a le faire avec moi! Quelque chose que l'on peux faire ensemble... J'aime le fait que je n'ai pas besoin de partir de chez moi, et je peux le faire quand je veux! Je n''ai besoin que de moi, un tapi, et une bonne video d'instruction!

Happy New Year!

All my best wishes of joy, love, laughter and peace in 2008!We had no big plans this new year. Yesterday, we went to see enchanted with our good friends the Johnsons. We had a good laugh, it was a very cute and fun show! In the evening, we ended up spending some great time with neighbors on new years eve playing cards. The kids had sleepovers and we had a bunch of teenagers over in the basement playing with Alexi all night long...
Today we spent time with some of our oldest friends in Cincinnati. We unfortunately do not see them often enough. In the evening Our friends the Perrymans took us to this amazing Indian restaurant, boy was it yummy! We talked and played a few games of Blokus back at our house. I must say, I have started the new year being quite lucky and won both at cards and blokus! :)


Bonne annee a tous! Tous nous meilleurs voeux de bohneur et de joie pour cette annee 2008!
Nous n'avions pas de grands plans cette annee. Hier, nous sommes alles voire le film Enchanted avec nos bons amis les Johnson. Nous avons bien rigole, le film etait tres sympa. Le soir nous avons passe du temps avec des voisins a jouer aux cartes. Les enfants etaient chez des amis et Alexi avait tout une armee de copins qui sont rester toute la nuit a jouer.
Aujourdh'hui nous avons revus des tres bons amis que nous connaissons depuis que nous sommes a Cincinnati mais que nous ne voyons pas asse souvent. Le soir nos amis les Perryman nous ont fait decouvrir un petit restaurant Indien tout pres de chez nous. C'etait super bon! Nous avons bien parle et avons joue quelques parties de Blokus. Je doit dire que j'ai gagne aux cartes hier et a blokus aujourd'hui! Je commence l'annee bien chanceuse! :)

My little brother Laurent is here and we are having some great fun together...
 I 've been busy in my Photography business and had the Nativity exhibit at our Church this week too...

Remembrance...

Aujourdh'hui c'est le jour de se souvenir des soldats de la 1ere guerre mondial. Aujourd'hui je me suis souvenue d'une experience que j'ai eu il y a quelques mois quand j'etait avec Mike a Huston pour son travaille.
Nous sommes rester dans un grand hotel ou il y avait aussi un groupe d'anciens soldats invalide de diferentes guerres. A chaque fois que j'etait dans l'assenseur avec eux, j'avais de grands sentiments de reconnaissance envert ces hommes ainsi que quelques femmes. J'ai pense a leur esprit de sacrifice. La plupart avaient des blessures, des parties de leur corps qui manquaient, mais aussi des blessures qui n'etaient pas visible... Je ne peux pas immaginer toutes les horreurs de la guerre qu'ils ont du souffrir. J'etais remplie de gratitude envers eux, surtout en pensant qu'ils aurait pu etre sur le sol Francais, pour moi, afin que je puisse grandir libre. Merci a tous ces hommes et femmes courageux.

Today is Remembrance day... Veteran's day. As I think about it, I am reminded of the feelings I had, when I was in Huston with Mike for a business trip a couple months ago.
We were staying at this huge hotel, and there was a group of invalid veterans staying there as well. Each time I was in the elevator, with a veteran, I had a overwhelming feeling of gratitude for these men, and women as well. I thought about their spirit of selfless sacrifice. Most of them had missing limbs, damaged bodies, physical scares, but most of all, I think, They must have had scares of a different nature that I could not see with my eyes. I can't imagine all the horrors of war that they had to suffer... I was filled with feelings of thankfulness as I thought that they may have been on French soil, for me, that I may grow up free... Thank you to all these couragious men and women.

Jamais trop tard...

... Pour faire ce que l'on aime. J'ai rencontrer cette gentille dame dans le park. Elle m'a dit qu'elle a toujours eu envie de paindre. Elle a pris des cours de painture apres avoir elever ses enfants. Elle a poursuit son reve et son desir creatif en elle... J'espere faire de meme un jour...

It's never too late to do what you love. I met this nice lady in the park. She told me she always wanted to paint and finally took classes after she raised her kids. She followed her dream and her creativity within her... I hope to do the same some day...

Amelie started dance classes. We had Justine do a couple of years but she didn't stay with it; too girly! Amelie is enjoy it so far...
